Update on my project: As of now, I have been steadily looking through text sources to grasp an idea on what I want to fully learn about. The texts that I have been going through are “A Ming Society” by John W. Dardess and “The Monarchy in the Emperor’s Eyes” by Harold L. Kahn. Rather than reading the full texts, I went through the table of contents and just actively searched for topics that mentioned government, philosophy, and the royal families.
Another source that I am looking through for inspiration was BBC’s “The Han Synthesis” that follows the philosophies of Confucianism and legalism. I believe that I want to now focus on law and philosophy for my project rather than the bloodshed of the different royal families.
